Flexible Benefit Plan
Flexible Benefit Plans -- also known as Cafeteria Plans or Section 125 Plans - allow eligible employees to pay for certain benefits with pretax dollars. This helps participants save taxes on insurance premiums, out-of-pocket health care, and/or related child or dependent care expenses. Any dollar deferred into the Flex Plan is withheld before any taxes are deducted from it. Federal, State, and Social Security taxes are potentially saved on every dollar contributed to the plan.
